Welcome to my page! My name is Mrs. Maddie Mansheim. I was born and raised in Salida, CO before I came to Adams State University in 2011. During my time in college I discovered three loves & passions of mine: education, the San Luis Valley, and my husband, Deacon Aspinwall.

In 2015, I student taught at Antonito Middle School (AMS) and Antonito High School (AHS) and immediately fell head over heels for our students because when I say we have the best students in the San Luis Valley, I mean it. It was clear to me that the only place I wanted to teach was at South Conejos. From 2015-2020 I was the Middle School English Teacher and received my Masters in Educational Leadership from Regis University. I transitioned into my current role as principal in 2020.

Outside of school you can find me in our beautiful mountains hiking, fly fishing, rafting, or skiing. Or if we are having one of our famous -30 degree days, I am probably home reading a dystopian novel or snuggling with my cat, Mr. Bean.

During my time in this district I have witnessed students create profound work, overcome unfathomable obstacles, and show unparalleled love. I am proud of our students today and every day. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your student(s)' journey!
